Wlison free kick on square centres, Lynch leads out from the square, leaps, marks above his head. Will kick after the siren. Never in doubt.

Three quarter time

LeGrice has playing forward in his first game for a while. He’s presenting very well leading up to the wings. Mature body and strong hands is really helping us.

Keane courageously stands tall in the hole, wears one in the back of the head, throw in, Wills nice clearance, off to Noble who runs and kicks, into the centre, another kick ends with Broomhead marking he misses.

Now it’s Wilson’s turn to put his body on line as he looks to intercept a kick, doesn’t mark, but ball comes to ground, Crocker to Varcoe, goal.

Werribee stream down the ground, they have the numbers forward, Keane no choice but to peel off his man, unfortunately slips as he was about tackle, easiest of goals.

Great pressure Crocker and Tardrew forces the kick to go out on the full just as Werribee looked to go forward.

Great result to hold against that challenge with them going to the scoring end in the final quarter.

Some brief thoughts on the second half

Lynch - one of the knocks on Witts was his overhead marking, Lynch has no such issue with some very important grabs. With Grundy's marking also building they could make for a lethal combination should we retain both.

Wills - he's huge at this level both physically and in his dominance, a great return from injury and one that will have the match committee thinking

Varcoe - injured partway through the second half, but it was a disappointing display. Last time he was dropped it took until game 2 for a decent performance, so let's wait and see.

Wilson - very sticky hands, played like a big half forward flanker today and he's currently lean enough to play that role. He also took the odd ruck contest when the ball was forward.

Tohill - second ruck and forward today, didn't do much, but is starting to get into the right positions more. With his athleticism I wouldn't discount him yet and would like to see where he is in 12 months.

Noble - performing very similarly to Quaynor at this level in much the same role. Quicker than IQ though, but is more slightly built.

Crocker - although he didn't get as much footy he's back to his gut running good form of early 2019.

Madgen - makes a very good CHB at this level, strong marking and a fair bit of footy

Appleby - not one I really watched, so only noticed him twice when he turned the footy over after poor kicks

Keane - starting to get a few fans, and another good performance today. Liked that he put his body on the line.

T. Brown, Broomhead and Bosenavulagi I didn't watch closely enough to comment on.
