Info about Luke!

Post by MargOZ »

If anyone has any links or articles on Luke we'd love to see them so we can get to know our sponsored player a bit better.

Luke Shackleton

Guernsey No: 31
Height: 179cm
Weight: 89kg
Date of Birth: 17 Nov 1984
Recruited from: Burnie Dockers / Tas U18

A hard-at-it on-baller who was a ball magnet for the Tassie Mariners in the TAC Cup, winning All-Australian honours at under-18 level and the Morrish Medal as the best and fairest player in the TAC Cup. Made his senior debut in 2002 for the Tasmania Devils in the VFL. Can also jump and take a strong mark. Carrying 90-plus kilograms, he will need to work hard on his fitness to make inroads.

Info from when he was first drafted.

29 Luke Shackleton Tassie Mariners, 18, 177cm, 80kg
Inside player from Burnie Dockers who made his debut this year for Tasmania Devils in VFL. Great possession-winner with excellent spring. Won All-Australian honours in AFL U18s in 2002.
By looking at that, it seems he has bulked up a bit.

Luke Shackleton

Date of Birth: 17/11/84
Height: 179
Weight: 89
From: Burnie Dockers (TAS) / Tasmania U18
Debut:
Position: Midfielder
Bullocking on-baller who excelled for Tasmania in the TAC Cup, but has yet to make the breakthrough into the senior side.

A strong mark for his size, Shackleton is unlikely to be muscled off the ball, but will need to improve his endurance to take the next step.
