Dahlhaus, Liberatore & Smith

Post by Presti35 »

Second thread about the Dogs recently... hmmm

So there's been some speculation that these three players were openly put up for trade by the club in October.

The club/coach have since come out and suggested that this is "a lie".

But you cant help but feel there is some truth to this. We know they couldn't get rid of Stringer quick enough, and we know they had issues with Dahlhaus' training efforts and Libers approach and his desire to leave the club. (I think he was linked to Essendon).

So I have several questions;

1. How can a club win a flag and then go to complete shit the following season? Getting rid of players and seemingly being upset with others.

2. Are these three players still on the outer? Liber is a free agent and the other 2 may also feel like a new start. Should we look into this?

3. With so many questions on their forward line and now these players, can they recover to make the finals in 2018? I dont think they can.

4. How in the hell did they win in it 2016? Boy did GWS really drop their chance!

With a huge amount of luck. As happened the following year. There are strong years and weak years. The last couple of years were weak years. What happens with GWS will determine whether that window of opportunity for mediocrity to triumph remains open or is slammed shut.

I reckon Liber will leave. But he'll miss the entire season with his second ACL (Other knee this time).

I dont know if he'll get the big money offers tho.

His disgruntlement had been no secret. And much like Stringer, the club was growing impatient with his ways.

We'll see what happens now after the knee. I'm sure I heard that Essendon had spoken with him.

It was just a gut feeling that he would leave. I mean who would have picked Gary Ablett to leave Geelong ever. I know there was a lot of money involved there, but still.
