Yeah, the young bloke might get blamed but it was his call and had he run, he would have been run out by much more than Ganguly was.

Was great to see the newer brigade of Clarke, Symmo (MoM), Harvey and Williams all starring and fitting in so well.
Donny.

It's a game. Enjoy it. :D

Maybe they'll turf him out for the much fitter, Darren Lehmann.

83 from 88 balls and 2/24 tonight in his comeback game. :D

Once again more dead wood.

The team needs young fit players (exception Warne and McGrath) who can help them in the field as well as with the bat.

Bloody great game of cricket! I don't care what anyone says, there was a time late in the game when ganguly and laxman could have taken it from us...then ganguly and singh. Sure we snuffed them out in the end but it's not often you get a good game when chasing 289.

As much as it hurts me to say...top effort by the Indians. Top effort all round actually. Let's hope the other games are as good as this one (with the same result).
My oxygen is Collingwood. Without it I die.

Clarke should replace Martyn in the Test Team, he proved last night that he can face spin. Unlike many in the Australian team, he moves his feet.
It was fantastic to see Harvs get a few wickets last night, the star of Victoria that he is. White should not be far away either, he played well for Australia A.
The cricket was once again awesome, the atmosphere was fantastic.

Well said, Blanch.

This was a ripper of an opening to a series. It had everything.

Some of you may faint because of your perception of me being a one eyed Aussie supporter but I was stoked when India won in Adelaide and the draw in Sydney was a wonderful result. It has added more spice to an already much anticipated series in India later this year,

I was also happy when the Windies beat us in the 4th. Test with a record run chase. Not so much as it happened but looking back.

That was a much needed boost to the Windies followers, especially Anthony who decided life WAS worth living after the AFL GF result and Australia thrashing his beloved Windies in the first 3 Tests.

Competition is what makes any sport/game interesting. My cricket team won 8 GFs but we lost 5 along the way. 8-5 from 13 was just about right although 9-4 would've been nice as my last game was a close GF loss.

Young Aussies hardly know what it's like for their national team to lose at cricket whereas a Windies win, these days, would be the cause of great jubilation and excitement.

St. George just about killed off Rugby League in Sydney by winning 11 flags in a row in the '60s.

The vulnerability evident in the Aussie team of late is a good thing. All the other countries are aiming at the standard set by Waugh and Buchahan and the team.

Sth. Africa set their sights on becoming better than the Aussies, when they returned to world cricket. They watched every video, trained the same way, really worked on their fielding and tried to play very positive cricket.

They got close but we beat them off by staying ahead of the game but now it's India and soon it will be Pakistan and then, perhaps, the Windies. They are all aiming at us. And good on 'em.
Donny.

It's a game. Enjoy it. :D

Well i could handle Collingwood winning every year ;)

This one day series promises to be a good one and the difference may come down to fielding and running between the wickets.

India's running between wickets is still a bit off, atleast this time it was only one (or was it 2?), but it was the one that cost them the game. If Ganguly was still in, when the last over was being bowled I think India would have just got home. But still it was a great game of cricket, good batting by both sides, alot of good shots were played. It looks like the one day series is going to be a good one. I hope the game tomorrow Australia Vs Zimbabwe turns out to be a good one aswell,.
