Agree 100%. We did the same with Treloar and whist I think it was a better deal for us I feel it was a very high price to pay. Imagine if we had traded away Pendelbury and Daisy for a single player. At the same time there are been some real dud first round picks over the years without even considering those who failed due to injury.

Lever valued at between Pick 1 + Pick 29 and Pick 11 depending on 2018 ladder finishes.

i thought watts was going to Sydney.
Watts has been primarily linked with Geelong and Port Adelaide.

The salary we're spending on Mayne has prevented us from going after any top line player.

So do you think we should do what's suggested in the article MM gave a link to in the "My Mayne question" thread?

He would not be the attractive part of the deal in the proposal. It'd be the draft pick(s) that came along with him.

He's a very good player - 21 years of age, tall, pretty agile, goes in hard and a good mark. Originally from Calder Cannons. Cemented his spot as Adelaide's number one CHB.
I say YES !
So sixpoints, any comments on the quality of Mark Robinson's opinions and views?

I get a bit bemused when people are already saying that the Dees have paid overs for Lever. They certainly won't have paid overs if the Crows stuff those two first rounders up.
In reality, draft selections are only worth the value of hindsight.
We won't know the winner of this trade for a few years yet.

Hindsight won't give you an answer to the question of whether Melbourne overpaid either, unless you can say that Adelaide used those picks to select the players that Melbourne would have selected. All we will know is whether Lever played well at Melbourne and whether Adelaide obtained a good return on their picks.
