We got 44 and 62 for him. 44 we used on Callum Brown. 62 ni.neil wrote:When listing players as tradable remember they have to agree to the trade.
We tried to swap Witts he refused and next year left and we got nothing for him. Lesson using a player as trade bait can blow up in your face

let melscum pay through the roof for him. we're better off using our pick 6 on the best young talent available in the draft. lever would cost us pick 6 and next years first rounder - essentially leaving us with nothing but him. the 2018 draft is supposed to be good so let's hold out for that rather than throw everything at lever. keep in mind we only just parted with 2 first rounders from consecutive years on treloar so I'd like us to be a bit smarter this time round.

I think his point was if we didn't have 44 and 62 in which case points would come off the next pick with DV points (up to pick 73).dalyc wrote:Which was 44neil wrote:Brown was F/S we would have used the next pick we had as per the rulesdalyc wrote: We got 44 and 62 for him. 44 we used on Callum Brown. 62 ni.
However, if points from current year picks after the bid are insufficient then the deduction carries over to picks from the following year starting with the first pick from the round where the player was bid, so we did get some value for Witts.
