I'm quite happy to back Langdon over Lever.K wrote:From the "Who do you want to win the GF" thread:Bleedblackanwhite wrote:Hopefully today's game will drop his trade value, or do we pass based on today's performance and seek only big game players?
Easier said then done!
Pies4shaw wrote:He looked very, very average in the finals. He was poor last week and got thrashed this week. I can't believe that people were pencilling him in to replace Langdon - he's slower and soft. I do help Melbourne gives up 2 first round picks for him, though, because he's worth about a late second-rounder.K wrote: I think I still haven't seen Lever win a one-on-one marking contest. I'm not sure if I just haven't seen enough of him play.
Hope I don't have to eat my words in 12 months time though.

Yeah. It's weak stuff when your arm is being held onto in the marking contest and when the opposition player blocks your path at the contest. He needs to play like Cotchin and bluff the umpire that his eye is on the ball when he takes the opposition player out.BBHS wrote:God he looked physically weak in the GF. Thought he was beaten multiple times at crucial moments. Is a kid, the hype has gotten wayyyyy out of control with him.

Surely we are not offering up two first rounders for Lever.
Happy to pursue him, but that has proven to be overs for any player.
Is he what we desperately need in the side?
I watched the U18 all star game on the weekend and if Luke Davies-Uniacke is still available at pick 6 (which we may have traded) I think we would be kicking ourselves.

I don't even reckon he's worth that tbh.Ev5Magpies wrote:Certainly not worth 2 first round selections.
You'd give pick 6 & that's it.
We need an absolute gun with pick 6.
We've had some misses with high draft picks in recent years... we need a bontempelli type win this year, via trade or draft, not a top up player.
Go Pies!!
