When did we make it clear we were after Lever?RudeBoy wrote:I'm not sure about that.Dave The Man wrote:Could do worse
After making it clear we were after Lever, if we were to settle for Watts instead, I'd say we are in big, big trouble. I'd rather get Seedsman back from the Crows.
Could definitely do worse, people judge him way too harshly purely because of his draft position.
He's a completely solid best 22 player in pretty much every team in the league. Great footskills too which is something we are in dire need of.
My concern would be that apparently he has never dealt well with the scrutiny. Coming to Collingwood would amplify the pressure on him immensely.

Serious concerns about an experienced player who still gets dropped for not working hard enough. Not the sort of player you want to bring into a young team as a mature recruit.
Has talent and could definitely offer us something, but the work rate concerns and his softness means I'm not for the deal. If it happened, he'd have to come pretty cheaply.

Well done boys!

Don't know what it is about this kid but i can't help but feel sorry for him. I think his father has lived his dreams vicariously through his son and Watts has to be the unhappiest footballer I've ever seen. He has never seemed to enjoy playing the game. If a club could somehow provide an atmosphere where he could enjoy playing the game he could yet prove a late gem. Not so sure if ours is the culture to encourage that....
Explain it to me like I'm a four year old. Ted Whitten is an AFL legend, and Bob Rose isn't?

I'd take him and don't think he's that soft - I reckon that's overstated IMO. He can kick straight & long, run, mark & handball. he'd be a good pick up if the price was right abnd advantaged us.

Looking like Lever is Staying or going to Melbourneswoop42 wrote:Discussion over at bigfooty revolves around pick 6 going to Melbourne in exchange for Watts and pick 10.
Pick 6 would be used as part of the deal for Lever.
I'll be surprised if it happens as every year for the past few we seem to be linked to Watts.
