Steve Waugh was one of the originators of the slower ball. I would definately have him in my team.
Gilly would be in my team as well. Hayden is a great player but i think at this stage others have done more than him at one day level.

The Torres bounce is officially dead. You are walking alone now Fernando.

So, how about some names, mate ?
"others have done more" ? You mean Bevo, I suppose.
Simon O'Donnell was the other originator of the slower ball.
How about you name who you'd drop for Bevan ? He'd have to be in your team because you've often stated how great he WAS and this team covers the last 23 odd years.

Steve Waughs record as a batsman is pretty handy:
SR Waugh 325 288 58 7569 120* 32.90 75.91 3 45 111 -
Steve was also a useful bowler and a good fielder. The rest of the team are pretty good in the field as well. There is a bias to more modern players as there are so many more one day games being played.
The team has 5 specialist bowlers and the Waugh brothers if required.
Gilchrist
Mark Waugh
Dean Jones
Ponting
Steve Waugh
Bevan
O'Donnell
Warne
McDermott
Rackermann
McGrath
12th Man Border
