Practice matches for the 2004 season have been announced.

Fri 20th Feb ~ v Box Hill @ McHale Stadium - 2pm.
Fri 27th Feb ~ v Port Melbourne @ McHale Stadium - 2pm.
Sat 6th Mar ~ v Werribee @ McHale Stadium - 11.00am & 1.30pm.
Sat 13th Mar ~ v Bendigo Bombers @ McHale Stadium - 10.30am & 12.00
Sat 20th Mar ~ North Ballarat @ Northern Oval - 11.10am & 2pm.
Sat 27th Mar ~ v Coburg Tigers @ McHale Stadium - 11.10am & 2pm.

6 full scale practice matches. Shit that's alot isn't it?

No wonder the players are stuffed by the end of the season.

6 practice matches does seem like a lot, but the first couple are used to test out the fringe players (all the 'name' players usually take a back seat), the middle couple are used to bring players up to match pace, whilst the last two are used to finalise the playing list.

Also, there are about 6-8 interchange players each game, so it's not as full-on as it first appears.

Mar 27 v Coburg Tigers will now be played at Burbank Oval.

Reserves to start at 11.10am, with the Seniors kicking off at 2pm.
