I went to Etihad today and watched that game live. One thing's for sure, I'm more worried about Queens Birthday than April 30. Gawn was gawn at half time with a hammy, plus without Hogan and Lewis, a very very skilful young side kicked themselves out of it. They owned the cats today. Number 29, Hunt??? What a player! And Petracca and Salem are elite. Great game. Lots of missed shots by Dees and some mighty clangers, but that's footy! Especially at this early stage of the season.
Have patience with our boys.
They'll be in the mix come September.
Some great depth running round in the VFL today.
Elliot was sublime. Crocker such a goer with ego and mongrel. Oxley was a cut above the rest. Thomas is coming along nicely and Keefe needs more running around the park. Wills could well be a vital part of our midfield come Sept. Keen to watch his development. McLarty was impressive today. Daics is silk. Mackie is a lot like his older cousin. Big strapping young lads in McCarthy and Lynch both have a red hot go and Kirby and Brown did some nice things today, but both need time.
Shazza and Aish are all class for sure.

Oh yeah, and who could forget Blairy.
Me I suppose. His hardness at the contest and accountability stood out. Still looks AFL material to me. Won't be popular around here saying it, but if he finds form, he adds much to our depth.
There.
Said it.

Thanks for this report. The future looks bright. there really is a lot of potential guns in the 2's right now. Pressure will be intense for places. we just need some more players to step up to the truly elite level with Pendles and Reid. Treloar is just about ready to join the conversation. I believe Adams will as well. Need more. Elliot, Degoey, Moore and Scharenberg are the ones i think can join them.Fatui Attata wrote:I went to Etihad today and watched that game live. i think you are judging Watts based on prior years. He was awesome this week. he kicked a goal that was just as good as Treloar's and it included a pick up off the deck at full speed that you wouldn't imagine a big could do.Albert Parker wrote:add Lewis and Hogan to today's team. have the talent but guys like Watts are soft as butter mentally.
they have this kid called hunt as well that is going to be as good as heath Shaw in his absolute prime. a gun! would love that kid on my team.

Precisely. If anything, what the doggies achieved last year will only give hope to these perennial losers. I think both teams have overtaken us, it'll be interesting to see if we can turn that around.E wrote:i think this what what people here said about the bulldogs last year IIRCDamien wrote:A club that since the 60's has just never had the mettle to go all the way. Just like the saints. We'll be premiers again before they are. Perennial also-rans.
