How to save the dying show?

Rotating host. Ala SNL. Someone different hosting the show every week. Doesn't always have to be a football personality. Problem is we'd be stuck with channel 9 personalities only.

Get rid of Billy. Get rid of Dave Hughes. Keep Sam and keep Rebecca as the mainstays. Keep Crawford, but less of the "silly Crawf".

It's safe to say the show needs a big freshening up. The same Ch9 personalities have become quite dull. I dont think Hutchy is the answer here. We see plenty of him on other shows and he has no comedic timing what so ever.

I remember when Garry left, and there was rumors about Darryl Sommers taking over. LOL imagine that. Hey hey its the Footy Show.

It's been running since 1994. And theres now a ton of AFL shows across all the networks, with plenty on Foxtel. It needs to lighten up a little, but also needs fresh faces and new ideas.

Spida Everitt knocked back the host role, for a gig spinning a wheel at Fishy Pub with Nigel Smart.

When Sam Newman eventually moves on from the show, that will be the end of it I assume.

I'm amazed it's lasted this long to be honest.

The Footy Show has been on a massive decline for years, I am glad Brayshaw is leaving I was never a fan of his. I am not a fan of Hutchinson either, so that wasnt the perfect choice for a replacement.

The Footy Show though still gets the ratings, surprisingly, but I do not watch I watched the Grand Final one for the Revue but rarely watch these days. I think there is a need for a variety sports show, since there are so many very serious shows but I think this one needs to be retooled as it's really behind the times.

We will have to wait and see if the latest addition affects it in any way though.

With 8 thursday games it will virtually move to Wednesday night. Channel 7 will get its wish and kill off the show. The AFL boot licking will go elsewhere presumably with7 wanting a night grand final despite what the footy goer wants.

I watch it very rarely now, just same old boys club bullshit in jokes, rancid jokes, bogans being well paid bogans. Soon as old fossil Botox Sam goes, the show will be rooted, hes the only glue that binds it, when he goes, its goodnight Irene. Thankfully.
