The date is getting closer and closer.
The ongoing appeal has a slim chance of success and once resolved, the AFL Commission will go ahead with deciding whether Watson should keep the Brownlow.
Watson has stated that he is at peace with it, which to me is possibly suggesting that he is expecting to be stripped of the medal.
Essendon, of course, have stated that Jobe deserves to keep it, but F-me the AFL would have to take it back.
Cant wait for the Swiss appeal to finally give their verdict. Which should be SOON!

I agree, he needs to hand it back.
Even if he does end up keeping it, he knows deep down he doesn't deserve it.
Your conscience is weird like that...

So apparently the AFL want Mitchell and cotchens to put in a submission for why they should get the Brownlow. Decision on the 15november apparently. What a load of bullshit. Just walk in and hand it back! For (mates with) sake no way a drug cheat (yes I can call him that now) gets to keeep a medal for the fairest and best 'won' in the year he was found to be cheating.
You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either!

Honestly, I think the AFL already know they are taking it back.
I think Essendon know this. And I think Jobe knows (and accepts) this.
Why they need another 4 weeks to come to a decision in beyond me?
*Do they want to keep this "news" for the time between the trade period and the draft?
*Are the simply trying to still figure out what to do with the runners-up, or all the other votes? You'd think the best part of 2 years was enough time to know what they'd do when it was finally known that the players were guilty.
The AFL have really dropped the ball with this entire fiasco. And they've done it again with this delay. Would there have been such a delay if it was a different player?

Thats really pathetic. You think Sam Mitchell is going to submit any paper work as to why he should be a Brownlow medallist?think positive wrote:So apparently the AFL want Mitchell and cotchens to put in a submission for why they should get the Brownlow. AFL keep humiliating themselves. They really do.

Well he's just about waited until the final judgement day to hand the thing back.Presti35 wrote:5 days to go....
He knew it was going to be taken back, but the AFL wanted him to hand it back, rather than to take it.
Shame it was done on remembrance day. Since we've waited this long, it would have been a little better if the powers that be demanded it back, but at least the right thing was finally done here!

The comments on facebook are pathetic talking about what a top bloke he is for handing it back.
Waited all this time to do it. Regardless of him handing it back he should still be formally stripped of the honour and the Brownlow awarded to those below.
