Yes we beat them in 1958 and stopped them winning four in a row but they still won six in ten years. As far I am concerned Melbourne blighted my childhood and the only team I have greater hostility towards is Carlton. I'm only 22 years old, so I haven't seen Melbourne experience success the way previous generations have. Plus half my family are Melbourne supporters so naturally I have a soft spot for them, but understandably others have bitter memories of them.

At least we can agree unanimously that we all hate Carlton with passion!

1988, nobody was going to beat Hawthorn once they clicked into gear.
2000, nobody was going to beat Essendon, 21:1 [just] for the season, after they cocked up the 1999PF to Carlton.
