Lessons from the GF

Post by thompsoc »

I thought it maybe good for posters to put down their
views on any lessons learnt from today.
I thought defence is king.
Also, a big guy like boyd is a real asset on the big stage.
we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.

Great topic Thompsoc.
The biggest lesson I learnt - heart, soul and belief can achieve anything.
So can moving the ball forward in any way possible and having numbers around the loose ball.

That's what's happens when the players love and play for their coach!
That's the lesson I learned not only today but all of the season!

Inside manic pressure, willingness to run hard both ways, willingness to take risks and keep the ball in motion combined with self belief can do a lot.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

You only need a coach that knows how to inspire and motivate his players, then special things can happen.

Yes, going back and kicking down the line isn't the dogs style.

And while I'm at it a big congratulations to
Danny Macginlay who is a friend of mine ...
he was the comedian who put out the doggie banners this year.
and I loved the GWS banner that said the dogs were born in boots and blood and not in AFL focus groups!
This is what we need ..... a good banner at games.
we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.

Be bold, don't be afraid to turn the list over and get every player to buy in.
Just 2 years ago they only won 7 games and came 14th with a percentage of just 81%.
From the side that played in the last round of 2014, only 10 played in the premiership today.

You can win a flag without the double chance and you can be successful in the modern era without turning your back on your traditional home.

we're not far off!

in reality should have won both games against the dogs.
Just need a bit of belief and freedom and we'll be right up there.

You must have a very black heart. Lighten up FFS. If MM had given Presti his medal in 2010 would you have ripped on either of them?
