I just feel like good threads and great discussions are lost when you post them in the correct forum.
Its true that not many readers scroll down to visit other forums below GD.
It can become quite annoying when some threads are moved and others are not, especially when new threads are created on a topic that has already been moved to, or already created in, the correct forum.
I was a fan of the Draft/Trade forum and I think there is a place for that. I'm not too sure why it had to go?
Overall, I'm talking about the layout of the front page.
I have mentioned this before and been told that anything under the Collingwood forum banner is Collingwood only, so Nicks Other AFL cannot go under this section.
But then we see the Supercoach and Swap and Sell forums under the Collingwood Forums heading. These are not Collingwood forums.
I think the site could improve with a more user friendly layout.
Does it actually need to say Collingwood Forums? We know this is a Collingwood page. Could it be changed to Collingwood/AFL forums, or simply AFL forums?
GD should be followed by Nicks Other AFL and then the VFL forum. If Trade Talk was to come back, it should go third or fourth behind GD.
I think the Sports Bar could be its own forum heading and separated into Soccer, Cricket, and Other Sports.
Just some friendly suggestions.

Some good points made here. I was always a little puzzled as to why the "DTM Forum" was removed but at least most trade/draft discussion still happens in general discussion so it isn't a big deal in my opinion.
I think "Nicks Other AFL" was a great idea in theory but it hasn't worked the way I envisaged the way it would work.
I remember early in 2014 some were growing frustrated of non-Collingwood discussion infesting the general discussion board, so understandably the admin decided to include a new board but the problem though is the lack of discussion in this particular board and some threads in general discussion end up withering away in Nicks Other AFL when they're inevitably moved away from General Discussion by the moderators.
I know it takes a few simple clicks to access Nicks Other AFL but I think the locality of it on this forum makes people stay away from it for whatever reason, and because it doesn't fit under the banner of Collingwood-related discussion it becomes largely ignored.
If Nicks Other AFL was directly below General Discussion I suspect it may garner more discussion and have a greater presence on this board but maybe I'm wrong about that and the concept of a separate non-Collingwood AFL discussion board isn't as popular as some of us anticipated back in 2014.
I think the layout of the board is fine. Yes, Nicks is an old forum but I think it's very user-friendly and I love the fact that advertising doesn't have a presence on this board the way it does with BigFooty for example.

The complaints regarding the DTM forum being separate began to outweigh the case to keep it,so we decided to swing back and see how that went.
The trick with avoiding the Other AFL forum is to make the topic somehow relevant to Collingwood - that's the point of Nick's after all. Otherwise, off to the Other for you (thought we can look at its placement).
Other Forums come and go - you should see the size of the archives.
