I will reluctantly go.

We've come this far and the boys need our support.

Get the win, get the week off, set ourselves for a massive prelim and possiblw granny, and we might just get something out of this debacle...

The TAC Cup finals fixture came out today. Princes Park will be occupied by a double-header in that comp on Sunday September 4th, so reading between the lines, we'll be playing there on Saturday the 3rd.

AFL Victoria have said they won't release the finals fixture until they know what the AFL is doing regarding their finals fixture, so we probably won't have an official word until Sunday evening at the earliest...

That's kind of what I was saying...

In any event, the Saturday slot is mixed news for us. On the one hand, the majority of our team will get a 7 day break and our opponents (one of Geelong, Port and theoretically Sandringham) will be backing up off a 6 day break.

On the other hand, it means the handful of AFL blokes eligible to play for us who are currently in the AFL will have to back up off a 6 day break themselves. And if Geelong are who we get, then any player who is in their seniors on Saturday and then finds himself dropped will have had the full week to recover as well...

EDIT: I should modify this by saying that the above scenario only applies if we take out the minor premiership. If we finish 2nd, we get Williamstown coming in fresh off a bye...

I haven't been able to get to a VFL game for a fair while, so I'll see what's on.

I'd like to go, but princess park isn't on my list of places I like going to. I won't boycott out of principle but the chances of me going there are a lot slimmer than if it had been Vic Park.

Anyone who plays seniors for Geelong this week is ineligible for the first week of the finals, so there's no risk of them dropping players back.

I assume week 2 is back to Port Melbourne? Or is it another game at Visy Park? I know the VAFA have Visy Park on the Sunday so that would have to be Saturday again

Weeks 2 and 3 are indeed back at Port Melbourne, ground inspections pending.

I hope we don't see North Port again until week 3, personally...

It is just a venue.
Not the best but.... it is the crap you are served.
Option 2 is not viable.
we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.

Cheers MB, obviously that is the preference! Not confident against Willy though, we always have struggled against them

Anyway other than the hate of Carlton, I went to Visy Park for the VAFA GF last year and it was a great ground, although I do hope they open more than 1 gate for the Collingwood game!!!
