Jenkins has just re-signed with Adelaide and Jack Watts is going to stay at Melbourne.

Chris Dawes is out of contract at the end of the season and Roos says that's a decision for the incoming coach, not him, so it sounds like the Beast might be looking for a new home in a few months' time.

^ As expected both Jenkins and Watts stay where they are.

It would have been nice to get Watts in free agency, but the chance of him coming over to us was just never going to happen.

There's still plenty of other Melbourne players I'd love to get, but all under contract. Petracca was born to play for Collingwood, as was Weideman.

As far as Dawes... could you imagine? Since crossing to Melbourne, he has hardly been able to find/keep any form. Hard to believe he's been gone for 4 seasons now. Could he do a Tarrant and come back?? No. Buckley got rid of him, and Buckley would not want him back. Demand for KPPs could keep Dawes (28 y/o) in the plans for many sides however.

The following article shows players available at the end of 2017: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-05-11/t ... ree-agents
Looking at who is left.... there is nothing in 2016.

Free agency will not be an option this year. (With the exception of the banned Essendon players).

Out of those unrestricted/restricted players, I'm confident that Brendan Whitecross, Zac Clarke, Jack Grimes and Will Minson will all leave their respective clubs.

^^

This is the thing about trading Witts.... we'd have Clarke (26) and Minson (31) to look at as a backup to Grundy/Cox.

Which leads me to believe that Witts should be kept.
