Blewett has come from 40 behind Fitzy to be level pegging on 116. Both not out as The Redbacks go on to 1/268.

Spoke too soon. Blewy has charged past his partner, moving on to 123. They now lead by 91.

The Redbacks have fought their way out of trouble and will probably salvage a draw.

Blewett is 144 n.o. and Fitzgerald, 129 n.o. They lead by 124 at lunch.

Fitzgerald's marathon innings accumulated 202 runs, used up 494 balls and contained 29 fours. He shared a 281 run partnership with Blewett for the second wicket.

S.A. finished on 6/482 - a total they would much rather have notched in the first innings.

Wright took 2/70 and Doherty, 2/139.

You may wonder how Downton took the Man of the Match award with 5/71 and 0/76 seeing Fitzgerald hit 202 n.o. and Blewett hit 171 but his first innings wickets proved vital in the context of the match and enabled The Tigers to get first innings points.
