De Goey is far from a problem.

He's a second year kid not being played in position, which is a pure ball winning midfielder.

Greenwood is taking his position at the moment, but won't be there in the future, so no worries here.

He's doing fine. Once Elliott and Fasolo return he'll be back in the midfield where he belongs.

Not blowing my own horn ( but I will ) been saying this all year re: JDG, just a player, to think it cost us pick 5, what a waste.
There is Collingwood and then the rest.

Cannot believe the impatience of some people. Because of injuries he has been thrown in very early.

He's in his second year and is being asked to play forward because both Fasolo and Elliot are out

He is a born midfielder who will grow in strength and size.

Still very young. Give him some time.

Not an issue. The issue is the lack of patience with some supporters.

Yep, I'm also concerned about him becoming an A-grader. Typically any young player by now would have shown many glimpses of his A-grade credentials and although De Goey has shown some nice things, he has been pretty underwhelming in that regard. I think he will be a very good player but no gun. His #5 pick will probably be viewed as too high, but looking at that draft list there is not a whole lot of proven talent there outside the top 3 or 4. Maybe the 2014 draft was a dud draft.

Given the current form of both JDG and Rupert Wills I would not be too upset if Rupert Wills was given JDG's spot in the team for a couple of weeks to get a feel for the speed and intensity of AFL seniors and give JDG a reminder that you have to earn your sot in the 1st's.
I am confident that JDG will be a good player for Collingwood for a number of years to come and that we are yet to see the best of JDG, but I agree he needs to stop slipping over and keep his feet in the contests to develop into the top grade midfielder that he has the potential for.
Collingwood Domination. Envy of the Nation!

Yeah, Heeney and Lever the only 2 to have shown more than DeGoey at this stage, Heeney was already locked away, and Lever was always highly rated but coming off injuries. Imagine the outcry if we'd selected another injured player.

If I remember right, many Nicksters wanted us to draft Laverde instead of De Goey. Now Laverde can't even break into the Bombers senior team, which is missing about 10 of their top players.

Yeah, was a massive push for Laverde and Langford. I was pretty keen on Ahern, Pickett or Cockatoo but none of them has done as much as DeGoey yet.

For arguments sake I will have a go.

All the bolded players.

Cockatoo, Duggan and Degoey about on par.

Wright and Lever would of been worthy picks.

Degoey is going to be a good player but he is looking more like a late 1st or early 2nd rounder then a top 5 pick that you would expect.

Think he lacks real weapons personally.
Up the Mighty Mags 2016.
