FA Cup 2016 Final: Crystal Palace v Manchester United

The FA Cup Semi Final ties are now completed as Crystal Palace and Manchester United have advanced to the FA Cup Final for 2016.

Manchester United will be seeking their first silverware under Louis Van Gaal and their first trophy in three years when they won the Community Shield under David Moyes in 2013. Crystal Palace after a strong start to the season, but a second-half decline in the season will want to cause an upset under manager Alan Pardew.

Manchester United last made an FA Cup Final in 2007 losing to Chelsea in extra time, and last won the competition in 2004 beating Millwall 3-0 final. On the other hand, Crystal Palace have never won the FA Cup before but will be attempting to do so for a second time after participating in the FA Cup Final in 1990 losing to Manchester United of all teams.

Third Round - Southampton 1-2 Crystal Palace
Fourth Round - Crystal Palace 1-0 Stoke City
Fifth Round - Tottenham 0-1 Crystal Palace
Quarter Final - Reading 0-2 Crystal Palace
Semi Final - Crystal Palace 2-1 Watford

Manchester United:
Third Round - Manchester United 1-0 Sheffield United
Fourth Round - Derby County 1-3 Manchester United
Fifth Round - Shrewsbury 0-3 Manchester United
Quarter Final - Manchester United 1-1 West Ham
Quarter Final Replay - West Ham 1-2 Manchester United
Semi Final - Everton 1-2 Manchester United

This match will be taking place at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday May 21 2016 with kick off being at 17:30 local time. What are your predictions for this match? Will Manchester United end a 12 year FA Cup drought or will Crystal Palace cause an upset and win their first ever FA Cup title?

I think that Manchester United should win this, would be good for Palace though if they could pull off an upset but I am not sure they can. But I will enjoy watching the game though.

Very disappointing.

Palace got that goal with 15 minutes remaining. A bit of a Magpie moment.

Then the turning point. Wayne Rooney showed why he is one of the best with a Mickey Mcguane type run and a solid pass, result - goal!

I knew it was heading for extra time so I gave up. Read the result in the Guardian, not surprised. MU are a professional team, the Hawthorn of England...

Louis Van Gaal is sacked two days after managing Manchester United to FA Cup glory.

Jose Mourinho is firm favourite to take over as manager from next season :(
