Kaneria ripped through to take 5/46 and give his team a target of 172.

They are 0/18 in chase.

Pakistan will cruise this in tomorrow.

Bad light stopped play with the score on 1/137. They need only 24 runs.

Umar is 61 n.o. and Farhat made 58 before Smith dismissed him. They put on 134 for the opening stand.

Pakistan were simply too good for Sth. Africa.

Akhtar and Kaneria bowled very well and Umar and the Test debutant, Asim Kamal, batted Pakistan into a winning position.

For the Protea's, Paul Adams 7 wickets was a top effort but they really could have used another spinner.

The second Test will be interesting as Akhtar will not be playing (suspended).
