they've been turning the ball over a lot... hmm... seems to be a running theme and the whorks seem to have excess numbers around the ball and are running rings around them. Hang on, weagles just kicked another one.
^^^ Yes, well, I probably don't care enough to check who wears 26 for the Wiggles but its reasonably clear to me that they are losing this for the same reason they lost the GF - not hard enough at the contest. Hawks lead 50 to 21. The game would be all over if Hawthorn could kick properly!
As it happens, I do. 26 for the Wiggles is Sam Butler.
Hawthorn 50, Weagles 29. Given that the disposals are 219 to 121 in Hawthorn's favour, the surprising thing is that West Coast is so close. Around the ground, this is more one-sided than Collingwood v Swans last week.
True that but both teams look stuffed now. There was a lot of running in that quarter. I wonder if either side can maintain that tempo for the second half. The weagles play a zone style as well which is basically useless against a side like whorethorn who will play over or around it. Why they don't make them accountable is beyond me. Man up and force the errors. Instead they give them too much space.

That's exactly what I mean about accountability. How is gibson allowed to have free reign across half back like that. They need to hone in on him and get tougher all round. Whorks are missing a few key players so they're not going to get a better opportunity than today you'd reckon..
AF points: Scully 138, Johnson 111, Griffin 108, Greene 105.
A week is a long time in footy. For Geelong, Dangerfield 23 disposals (no goals); for GWS, Greene 34, Griffen 32 (and 2 goals), Scully 32 (and a goal), Shiel 27 (and a goal).

I agree - but it looks to me like West Coast don't have the appetite for it. They are a team full of nice, elegant footballers and that won't win games against the Hawks.
I remember Juventus being dismissed one season as a "a team full of painters and decorators" - they went on to win the Serie A title but, unlike West Coast, their "painters and decorators" included Baggio, Vialli, Deschamps, Ravanelli and Del Piero. Class will out - provided you have almost all of it and the opposition has almost none of it.
Meanwhile, Carlton have drawn first blood against Sydney. They are six times Sydney's score (1 goal to 1 point). We would probably have killed for that start last week.
