I'd be happy for the club to recruit Adcock for a year or two to help assist in the development of our young defenders. He's the best option out there when it comes to delisted free agents so he's definitely worth a look.
In saying that I wouldn't be disappointed if we overlooked him but I think he's capable enough to provide us strong leadership and experience that was lacking in our defence this year especially during our decline in the second half of the year.
We could do far worse so I'm all for it if the club wants him badly enough.

In terms of potential upside, I'd argue Morabito is the best out there, if he can get his body and mind right. Assume the dockers have committed to rookie listing him but wouldn't be averse to snatching him up.

Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle.

Happy to disagree. As you say, Adcock WAS a handy HBFer in his prime but will be 30 before the start of the 2016 season and it's a position we have excellent coverage and developing talent. Morabito on the other hand was an elite junior, could address a list shortfall of outside pace and ball use, and will be only 25 going into 2016. His issue is his knees and will they hold up at AFL level. Risk - reward has Morabito well ahead for mine.tomoleary wrote:Just wanted to chip in my 2 cents. Adcock ahead of Morabito. From my perspective, it's not even close. In his prime Adcock was one of the better half back flanks in the comp.

But nothing stopping us grabbing him first with our earlier pick, apart from some moral imperative.John Wren wrote:you have assumed correctly. freo have indicated they will rookie list him again.jackcass wrote:Jezza wrote:I'd be happy for the club to recruit Adcock for a year or two to help assist in the development of our young defenders. All's fair in love, war and footy Daz. If Hine wants him, he should grab him, just like if the Brions want either of Thomas or Keefe, they should grab one. Such is footy socialism these days. To each their own.jackcass wrote:But nothing stopping us grabbing him first with our earlier pick, apart from some moral imperative.John Wren wrote:you have assumed correctly. freo have indicated they will rookie list him again.jackcass wrote:

Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!
