Love him or hate him, brave move to stand aside now, even if pushed, his health and well being more important than any footy game

Someone sent in a good tweet to the ABC this morning. They said "Why do we use terms like "battling with demons" when we talk about depression? We'd don't use those terms for other health issues like cancer or diabetes" The hosts agreed and went on to say that talk about mental health issues often contains loaded language.

I don't see a problem with it. When I'm really blue, it can feel like the good angel on one shoulder is fighting the little %$^%$ on the other.

All the politically correct stuff shits me. Sometimes things need a word that is not scientific.

My husband has cancer, been fighting it for years, and I can't remember the last time someone said that word aloud in my house or around him! It's usually referred to as the blood count! That's about it! It's there you don't need the reminder.

I guess to it's the stigma that comes from an illness that's "in your head" as if you should just be able to "get over it".

Funny, I posted a meme on Facebook yesterday that said something like "telling someone with depression to just get over it is like telling someone who's deaf to listen harder!" The latter happens to me all the time!

And it hurts.

Apparently it's not the first time he has had seizures. I admire his guts in putting it out there. I've seen the damage they can do, to two people I have cared deeply about. One lost their life to epilepsy. It's an embarrassing disease, and it shouldn't be. Neither should cancer be.
Or loss of hearing.

It's good they are talking about it though. Get the info out there. It's always nice to know your not alone, and others feel the way you do.

I think the jungle drums are being speculative and frankly, bloody vindictive.

Zero evidence = maximum crap. Only idiots will get sucked in.
Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!

Dunno, knowing the AWFUL. And their stupid three strikes privacy policy, and the way they protect their image at what ever cost, I wouldn't be surprised if he got an all expenses trip to Paris to go to a clinic where no one would recognise him.

Not convinced some players have not had 'an injury layoff" that wasn't really an injury.

I hope he overcomes his issues and demonstrates to young men the importance of getting help before problems escalate and become entrenched

I feel sorry for him and I am upset that people do not accept mental illness as a problem and have to come out with innuendo with what is going on with him.
