Eagles simply far better. Best running team in the comp and that pretty much means best team. Hawks run has really dropped off and it's why we've seen them get smashed for periods this year. Their kicking game doesn't cut it when a team can pressure them for long enough, has always been a fragile game plan.

I still think these two sides will play each other in the Grand Final despite Hawthorn's bad loss tonight. The Eagles have exceeded expectations and look superb! They'll expect to make a Grand Final now especially with the week off coming up for them.
It will be fascinating how Hawthorn responds next week. Will they simply go through the motions or will they respond with a big statement to demonstrate that their season is far from over. I think they'll beat the Bulldogs or Crows next week.

It was a bit depressing for me watching how far short of both teams we are at the moment tbh.
The ball movement, in close skill, and pressure was a cut above anything we've produced this year and watching two sturdy defences and functioning forward lines at work was actually quite novel.
We do have it in front of us to get to that level but we also know that we have to strive to attain that. I can't wait to see us trying to get there.

Actually it was a result easy to see.Hawthorn rely heavily on easy goals from soft cocks like Breust who peel off and kick easy goals . Same for Gibson who is third up in the contest. He leaves his man and Darling goals. Bruest. oh **** my my limp wrists dont want to be there. Tigers showed that man on man beat them and so did we until a couple of Stevic interferences robbed us
I hope they go out out in straight sets. They are a shadow of the the great sides who won three in a row. That and Clarkson is a bully.

Annoying opposition supporters since 1967.

Hawthorn has now lost 7 games. That is not the form of a team that is dominant. That is a team who have performed perhaps third or fourth best in a given season. What they still have is the 'potential' to turn it around and still win the GF. But their form does not indicate they are likely to manage that very difficult task.
Last night was a typical example of a team with no recent success being hungrier. West Coast want the flag more and unless Hawthorn can find a similar, desperation for glory they are done.
