Great to see Melbourne taking it right up to Freo - at one stage Freo was 50 times Melbourne's score but now they're only 31 times Melbourne's score. Melbourne, doing everything they can, trail 2 to 62.

Brilliant effort by the 'Aints - they managed to beat Adam Goodes 4 goals to 3 - pity for them that the rest of the Swans kicked another 17. St Kilda 4.14.38, just edged out by the Swans 20.15.135.

If Adelaide finishes seventh which now seems likely, then the two most useless teams in the finals, North and the Ponces, will play in separate elimination finals, with a strong chance of quick elimination. Means that Richmond will finally get a finals win, but one cannot have everything.
