Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

Hird 'I am a good coach".
Little 'he's a good coach".
Goddard "he's a good coach"
I expect to see Carlton and Adelaide reopen interviews so Hird can apply.
Three years too late Essendon. Half the team will want to leave and probably no one decent will want to go there.
I don't believe we have heard much of the real drugs story. TB4 was only one of the banned substances. There were some others but no paper trail strong enough. You'd have to suspect Hird was in to unfair advantages in his playing career through his association with Charters.
He has pulled the wool over tens of thousands of Essendon supporters for years. They thought he was some superior being who would bring premierships just by being there. In the end he took advantage of them. He ripped milliions of their membership dollars out for doing nothing and cost them millions in legal fees. A year in France and a year to disappear and keep his mouth shut like Robinson.
There is something about the Essendon supporters that make them so gullible like no other clubs' supporters. Many of them are seriously weird. I just don't get it. They have been mediocre or worse for 13 years. Why do they think rising to the top is so easy and a god given right? Oh well they got what they asked for.

It's two years late but finally James Hird has fallen on his sword! Hird leaves Essendon being a worse coach than his predecessor Matthew Knights! What a joy to witness his demise!
Pity it's over from an opposition supporter's perspective as watching Essendon's fall from grace was entertaining. I wonder if new twists and turns will arise in the whole supplements saga as a result of this 'sacking'.
After all he does have a bachelors degree in civil engineering and he participated in an MBA course in his year off last year in Paris.

Essendon is not a club, but a cult.perthmagpie wrote:Hird 'I am a good coach".

I blame Sheedy.
He always bullshitted and talked up anyone and everyone from Bomber land as champions and ornaments to the game.
He created Cult Hird and now Cult Hird has left Essendon a smouldering ruins.
A sociopath with no regard for anyone but himself. He has remained unhinged and disconnected from reality to the end.
Always someone else's fault.
But the Bomber fans, nearly all of them are drinking the coolaid...because it is a cult, not a club.
They are in a Blooz style downturn that will take decades to correct...if at all.

^ Great insight on the situation Dewd. I actually pity the supporters more than anyone - first they barrack for Essendon, then they see it all crumble before their eyes.
Imagine if Bux had done it at the Pies, his name would have already been a dirty word to us. Truly unforgivable what those guys did down at that club.
