Leppitsch entering desperate Voss territory!

Post by inxs88 »

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-07-30/l ... draft-pick

Oh Justin Justin!! The second year blues are kicking in as the reality of coaching rears its ugly head. So the triple premiership Lions of a decade ago, who challenge the Melbourne Football club for recruiting debacles:

Anyone remember these trade blunders:

B Fevola
A Buchanan
X Clarke
M Maguire
B Staker
J Paine
A Raines

Plus retention blunders:

B Longer
E Yeo
P Karnezis
J Polec
S Docherty

Or the injustice of picking up Blake Caracella from Essendon in 2002 as a priority selection despite winning the Grand Final!!

Tip Leppa:

Spend more time building relationships, smiling, extoling a long term vision than whingeing, giving chin music to your up and comers in the locker room and creating a club environment conducive to growth. Two words for you:

Luke Beveridge!!!

Wrong forum. If we can't have threads about the Blooz here, we certainly can't have ones about pretend football sides like the Brions.

Staker was potentially the best of the lot, but had those knee recos stop him while he was in great form.
Maguire was very serviceable for them.

And perhaps add Aish to the retention-fail list.

Viva le Voss!

Yeah Docherty's gone OK at the Blues but I can understand why he didn't do so well up there. Sure he was a 1st round draftee and played one or two nice enough games but he had a fair few flaws in his game that needed working on before he could be given a good run in the seniors. Besides, who would he displace?

He was injured a bit in his first year and then was sub in 6 of his 13 games he played in his 2nd year and sometimes didn't make much of an impact in his quarter or 2 so had to be dropped pretty soon after being promoted. Regularly tore up the NEAFL but other than a bit of toe and a good attack on the man and ball for his age, you had to wonder if he had all the tools necessary at AFL level. Questionable disposal at times too.

Thank Christ we don't have anyone like that on our list.
