I reckon that you deserve the Micky Gayfer award for sticking to task!MagpieBat wrote:Thanks Jezza. I was raised well.Jezza wrote:Thanks for the commentary MB! I admire your ability to stay in the end for that ordinary performance.
Looking forward to your review on the match and from others who attended today!
Can't really recommend any senior player out there today with any enthusiasm. But we do have to make a couple of forced changes, so it'll really be the best of an ordinary bunch...
I think therefore I think - I think

Thanks Magpie Bat. I had to go to a family function & just completed reading the game from the opening bounce - cheers.
You really do deserve a medal from Nicks because your contribution is marvellous & exceeds expectations. Thank you again.

8.07 wiped off our percentage (now 96.76), likely to crash to 8th spot after results tomorrow (al beit still inside the 8 by a game over the loser of Casey/Port).
F-ck, this one is going to sting...

I don't think we can take anything much out of today's game. We were woefully undermanned. God Bless Ash Close (#71 Ivanhoe Amatuers/Morwell) but we can't reasonably expect to win a game with Ash as our key forward. This is not to say that the boy didn't try hard an do a few good things, but FFS.
The combination of lack of cattle and a tough 3 weeks really showed in the last quarter when we were overrun. On another note, it was a very healthy crowd today despite the miserable weather.
A few positives:
S Dwyer - Played his heart out
BenKen - Tried all day but was overwhelmed
Schaz - Had a few Barry Crocker moments but also showed a bit of class at times.
Cox - As I often say, he is getting better and better every time I see him. He couldn't stand against the tide today but he is a beauty.
PK - Hat tip for kicking 4 and making the most of his opportunities on a dead set rubbish day at the office for the club. This is what we want PK to show us. We are desperate for finishing class in the seniors.
Captain Jack - We are lucky to have him. Tried all day but was just overwhelmed.
Greenhough - As the Bat said, looked dead after a mark in the forward line but after a visit to the Lazarus Pit (Hat Tip to the Bat), came back on and kicked a goal. Huge heart. He would fit right into the League of Assassins.
A few knocks:
Seeds - has to do better at this level. We need his class and X factor in the firsts. He certainly didn't do much today.
Greenwood - Needs to have a good hard look at himself. No senior player wants to be running around in the scoobs on a miserable July afternoon & I but he should be smashing it at this level. I know he probably isn't completely fit but at one stage he gave away a 50 by punching a Dogs player in the guts. FFS Levi. You are better than that.
Lets hope we get a better side on the park next week. Hot Pies.
