Ellis was the one last year who played for Essendon one week and then us the following week. Good to see him get an opportunity, al beit at the expense of Neddy McKeown...John Wren wrote:god to see gussy borthwick named on the extended bench. kieren ellis' first game for us this year.

Borthwick is on the VFL Senior List. He was able to play as 23rd man because this is his first year on a VFL list. Yes, he has exhausted his 5 game 23rd man allowance, but he's still eligible to play as part of the first 22.Dave The Man wrote:Thought he played too many Games?John Wren wrote:god to see gussy borthwick named on the extended bench. kieren ellis' first game for us this year.
Promoted to the VFL Senior List?

Gee 21 senior and rookie listed players. Obviously 4 out for the senior I/C but that still means only 4 players unavailable for selection. Seems like for ever since we've had so many players available with hopefully Sinclair and Ramsay back after the bye.MagpieBat wrote:Team's out:

Welcome back, Levi.

I'd like to add Marsh and Pendles to the list of possible forward options.MagpieBat wrote:Looking at that team, I'd hope they plan to play one of Moore or Reid or even Karnezis forward, because otherwise Gault is going to be in for a long day playing 1v3 as our sole tall target...perthmagpie wrote:Looking at our team and take out Varcoe, Seedman, Adams and Kennedy that leaves 17 AFL players. One might play only a half. Strong team especially if only Greenwood is the only one playing 3/4. Last week was a good effort considering we had no midfield compared to the Coburg game and our bench was impacted by two injuries and shortened game time for Maynard, Reid, Young and Moore.

If they insist on playing all our good tall KPF prospects behind the ball, we might have no choice but to play Pendles forward on hope...jackcass wrote:I'd like to add Marsh and Pendles to the list of possible forward options.MagpieBat wrote:Looking at that team, I'd hope they plan to play one of Moore or Reid or even Karnezis forward, because otherwise Gault is going to be in for a long day playing 1v3 as our sole tall target...perthmagpie wrote:Looking at our team and take out Varcoe, Seedman, Adams and Kennedy that leaves 17 AFL players. If playing any of Moore/Marsh/Reid forward is forbidden and if Witts and Adams are right to play seniors, then I would like/hope that we line up like this...
B: Wallace Reid Marsh
HB: Maynard Moore Scharenberg
C: Manteit Broomhead Young
HF: J. Williams Karnezis Dwyer
F: Abbott Gault Goodyear
R: Cox Kennedy Moloney
Int: Hellier Greenwood Armstrong Borthwick Ellis*
If Adams doesn't come up, or if Maynard gets held over, then Pendlebury is next cab off the rank.

I think Kennedy and Broomhead more likely to be in the seniors than Seedsman.MagpieBat wrote:If playing any of Moore/Marsh/Reid forward is forbidden and if Witts and Adams are right to play seniors, then I would like/hope that we line up like this...

The Law of Averages says you had to get one right eventually. So, good on you.jackcass wrote:Pure RsMagpieBat wrote:Looks like you might have called this one right.jackcass wrote:I think Kennedy and Broomhead more likely to be in the seniors than Seedsman.
Don't get used to it, though...

Kennedy, Broomhead and Seedsman are in the seniors. I'm assuming Seedsman will be the sub.MagpieBat wrote:The Law of Averages says you had to get one right eventually. So, good on you.jackcass wrote:Pure RsMagpieBat wrote: Looks like you might have called this one right.

So assuming no late changes to the senior side I have it now as 15 senior/rookie listed players in the VFL today.

Greenwood and possibly Moore to play on restricted time, so that number will fluctuate. But otherwise yes, 15 AFL boys.
By my count the opposition has 8 North Melbourne blokes lining up, so it's almost 2 to 1 in our favour there, but they have a couple of AFL experienced players hanging around on their VFL list, so that evens things up a little bit more, along with the fact that their VFL players are good at what they do.
We're rightful underdogs in this one...
