Quite well. Took some good marks in defence and ball use was relatively good.

Ended up with his head taped after getting opened up, but I think he will survive...

Still seems to be a good kick. I don't know anything about him. Is he rookie material?

Was on Essendon's list for a couple of years under Knights. Has played at Werribee and West Adelaide prior to us. Can certainly take a mark and kick a goal, but does his best work as a 2nd forward, behind an established or recognised #1 man.

Rookie? I wouldn't say no, especially if the alternative is Jesse White...

He could.

Really, I think we need to replenish our key forward depth this year. White and Gault just aren't cutting it. 1 or 2 high production state league forwards for a bit of depth, plus another 1 or 2 at the top end of the draft (because that's where the best ones go). Moore permanently training as a forward would also help as well...

Confirmation of the final scores:

Richmond 14.8.92
Collingwood 14.11.95

GOALS - Still 4, Hellier, Dwyer, Allan, Blair, Williams, Manteit, Fasolo, Gault, Armstrong, Wallace

VFL team now sitting in 6th heading into the bye at 3-2, outside the top 4 on percentage (al beit 23 percent behind the 4th placed team in Sandringham).

Oh, and another interesting little detail: with his bag of 4 today, Michael Still has moved into equal 1st place on the Frosty Miller Medal ladder, sharing front place with Liam McBean on 12 goals, Richmond's best VFL forward and who ironically enough was called up into the seniors today (thanks Dimma!)

Won't last long, given we have the bye this week and a glut of other players across the VFL on 10-11 goals, but it's still (no pun intended!) something nice to add to yet another gutsy win by the ressies...

The VFL match day experience was fantastic yesterday as someone who hasn't attended a VFL match for a few years beforehand. I found it quite challenging to analyse individuals so I do really have a growing appreciation for those who can do it exceptionally well such as MB but here are my thoughts on players involved in yesterday's game.

Kennedy was excellent for most of the match without dominating but he was very solid. He does know how to take the hard hits from opposition players however which makes him prone to potential injuries.

Dwyer is a very reliable player and will push for a spot next week in the senior side if Bucks decides to make several changes.

Scharenberg is as composed as you like as a footballer. Very cool, calm and collected and he's gradually building his fitness levels. Still a fair way off from making the senior side but he's progressing well.

Fasolo worked hard for the first half before he was subbed off and sent to the MCG as an emergency for the main game. I was happy with the way he performed.

Marsh was in and out of the game when it came to his involvement in the contest but I do love his attitude and I think he has all the makings to be a good player of the future. I can see why Hine took a punt on him late in the draft in 2013. His smother in the second quarter up our attacking end was the most notable highlight of his game.

Mason Cox has more ability than Shae ever did but he's a work in progress for mine. I doubt he'll feature in the senior side this year though.

Overall great win by the boys and this will really do the confidence of the reserves the world of good after another narrow victory. It was great to check out a lot of these youngsters for the first time and getting an insight into how they're progressing so far this year.
