MRP Madness

Post by didick »

I'm sure there will be a lot of content to add to this thread this season, despite the changes to the system.

First up, the Sun's Shaw can accept 1 week after jumping and collecting a Dees player with an elbow to the forehead. How does that work? And Sidey last season misses 4 weeks.

One week for Billie Smedts. Joke.
I remember last year at a VFL game at Vic Park he nearly took the head off one of our players. Dirt bag.
It appears that you are right, Cam. The AFL is now soft on thuggery.

I have got no issue with a bit of thuggery (within reason).
The game has gone far too soft the last few seasons.

one week each for tippet and franklin. I wonder how Sidey's indiscretion from last year would be assessed nowadays.

Two standouts this week - let's see what happens.

1. Selwood's chicken wing on Sam Wright from the Roos. Like Judd's effort, it was sustained, not accidental, involved second movement, designed to injure and not in contest for the ball. 4 weeks.

2. Sam Mitchell's knee to try to give Fife a corky. Mitchell has already done time this year being a sniper with an elbow to the face, now he has put a knee into Fife. And of course there was the needle jab at Essendon. It is said he is a great bloke - he might have been once but these days he is just a nasty little person.
