the richmond game is likely to have a strong contingent of afl players. perhaps this is the real reason why it is a closed game.

So the AFL can not see who we play in the VFL as we need there Permission

Why would that be the case? Last year's encounter had a strong AFL contingent and was open to the public.

Granted, Vic Park is an open community facility, but still, I can't see why they would want to hide players from the public...

And why, pray tell, would we go to all that hassle of trying to cheat? Especially since there will be VFL umpires, officials, stewards and timekeepers there? I don't imagine those blokes will all walk onto the field, look at all our seniors playing and not think 'wonder if they've got their papers on them?'
