2015 fixture?

Post by September Zeros »

Anyone know if or when the 2015 vfl fixture is released?

If it is, where one could find it?

And following on from that last post, confirmation that we will be playing in Bendigo next year, courtesy of the Bendigo Advertiser, via our very own Mattys123:

Two #VFL games will be played in #Bendigo at the QEO in 2015. Geelong v Collingwood on May 9 and Essendon v Footscray on August 21. @VFLnews

The VFL haven't pencilled in an exact date Jezza, but they have said it will be released "mid December", as has been the pattern of the past few years.

The 2014 fixture was actually out at this point last year, funnily enough...

Hopefully it comes out in the next few days.

Fox Sports reporting that the previously mentioned game against Geelong up in Bendigo on May 9th will be a night match:

Some more fixture leaks, as well as a tentative release date (why can't they just decide on a day and release the damn thing?):
A Collingwood v Northern Blues match has tentatively been set down for Victoria Park on the morning of August 8, but officials of both clubs have been in discussions about a shift to the MCG.

Several clubs including Carlton, Geelong and Essendon have their hands up to host curtain-raisers, with the Northern Blues down for a pair of Etihad Stadium matches prior to Carlton games.

The draft schedule had the Magpies set for a first-round trip to face North Ballarat at Eureka Stadium, while the Pies have also been handed a Saturday night clash with Geelong at Bendigo's Queen Elizabeth Oval. The VFL Magpies will also play Essendon at Windy Hill on Sunday April 26, the day after the clubs' AFL incarnations square off at the MCG on Anzac Day. The draw - set to be released on Wednesday or Thursday - remains subject to change.

VFL has announced that the fixture will be out tomorrow afternoon:

Stay tuned for the release of the 2015 #PJVFL fixture this Thursday afternoon ....
What time exactly tomorrow afternoon, they did not say.

Basically, keep your eyes open and your Internet connections fired up between 12pm and 6pm... in between watching/listening to the cricket, of course... :)

(Actually, going back over the archives here, the last couple of VFL fixtures have been released at about 3:30pm, so you might be able to take that as a guide as to when to log on).

Or, you could just log on here at the end of the day to read my breakdown of the fixture...

According to a poster over at VFLFOOTY.com, who is a club timekeeper with the Frankston Dolphins, one of our (as-yet-undisclosed-number-of) curtain raisers will be against Frankston.

Given what was leaked/speculated on Sunday, I'm thinking it might be before the Melbourne game on August 1st...
