I thought the old walrus was on the right track for the Doggies so didn't expect this at all.
I guess what happened was that McCartney wanted Griffen gone after asking for a trade, Gordan wouldn't have it after his statement last night, so Paul resigned, or threatened to and then had his bluff called.
Probably about the level of professionalism you'd expect down there actually.
Brendan McCartney resigns from Bulldogs

Some people rate McCartney as an excellent development coach but weren't as sold on his abilities to perform the senior coach role.
Who knows what's really true but am I correct in thinking he installed Leading Teams at the Western Bulldogs as well?
We should look to add him to our panel as a development coach.
P.S-I hope they don't appoint Tudor. Him or Ratten are my preferred assistant coaches to take over from Buckley should the results of next year dictate a change is in order.

that's why he's so pissed off with us, Collingwood is the only club to actually terminate his contract to coach.Pies4shaw wrote:No, I think he probably feels that he gave them a proper rogering when he walked out on them last time.

Why doesn't Leading Teams coach then? The idea of empowering the players has led to player revolts. Is that what is happening at Collingwood?swoop42 wrote:Some people rate McCartney as an excellent development coach but weren't as sold on his abilities to perform the senior coach role.

Scott Pendlebury would disagree with you. He called our midfield "cheats" for a reason and as far as I know, Leading Teams encourages that sort of talk from players who back it up on the field, no matter their age or previous achievements.collie dog wrote:Why doesn't Leading Teams coach then? Calling your team mates out in public must be some new form of political correctness I'm not aware of. Or does PC stand for that Piesnchess fellow you enjoy mentioning every second post?
