I'd be happy for that too, but I suspect those high numbers wont cut it for 23, pity.
Surely we can swap 5, 48 and something (Blair ) to the Dees for 3. If we can't get what we want at 5 it's pointless having it and we might as well upgrade 30 to the low 20's.
I hope we don't use pick 5 on a small forward in Pickett.
We need to add some players now who can add some size and strength to our midfield rotations for the years to come.
Still not discounting we'll go for Wright if he slips to 5 though, even if he would appear surplus to our needs.
The big advantage of us taking Wright that I see in the short term is that he should hold his trade value.
Who's to say that Cameron doesn't do a Boyd next season and demand a trade to Collingwood?
Wright and our first selection should get the deal done.
Likewise in 2 years time Petracca might be convinced to join the club he supported as a kid and a straight swap is all that is required.
Then there is the possibility Wright kills it more than Moore, Grundy or Witts over the next 2 seasons and we're stoked to have him.
If Wright is gone by selection 5 then I think we take Laverde (or might prefer him anyway) as that taller point of difference prospect just ahead of the more genuine and smaller midfield types like Ahern.
I think we can still land a promising powerful genuine mid at 30 in someone like Gore or an athletic strong bodied flanker type like Maynard.
If we end up using pick 48 one of Langdon, or McLean might be still available as small forward options or a key position prospect like Keitel at a stretch.
Pick 5 Wright/Laverde/Ahern/Weller
Pick 30 Gore/Maynard/Menadue
Pick 48 McLean/Langdon/Lonie/Keitel/McDonald
I'd be happy if we come away with any one of those players at there respective draft pick.
So as it stands, if we want to use pick 30 we'll need to delist another player and if we want to use 48 as a live pick rather than to upgrade Frost, we'll need to delist 2 players?
There's no way Laverde is the only other option. He's not close to a top 5 lock. At this point the field is wide open. Still 6 weeks out, the landscape will look very different a week or two out.

'Don't draft me I'm not interested and won't play for your club under any circumstances'?
Or alternatively
'Ok draft me but I'll only sign a one year deal and I want to be traded to the team of my choice (aka Buckley)'
Players have to declare their willingness to play for any club which drafts them. To do otherwise can lead them being disqualified from being in the draft.

I don't know for sure but I suppose your nomination for the draft could be rejected by the AFL if you're discovered to be tampering. I suppose that doesn't include deliberately acting like a douch bag in your interviews to turn certain clubs off you as that would be difficult to police. I know if I were set to be a top pick I would do anything in my power to not be selected by Melbourne.

Still doesn't stop Player X saying he's happy to be drafted to any team but they should be aware that he ultimately wants to be with family and will seek to get home at the first opportunity.
