Sydney's victory tonight demonstrates that you need to finish top 4 to have any chance at winning the flag. North have been resilient throughout the final series but they looked burnt out tonight as they had to play two weeks of intense finals football to beat the Bombers and Cats.

The Swans with all their concessions were expected to make the Grand Final otherwise this season would have been a fail of epic proportions had they made it. If Hawthorn wins later on today then the idea of Buddy v Hawthorn in the Grand Final is very appealing for the AFL and will be milked to death next week without a doubt.

Disagree. Everyone overlooks basic facts. They take players no one else wants and make them decent. They take risks with recruiting, albeit with the cola in franklins case. They develop good coaches. They are defensively superb every year, and not by buying a backline.

Everyone said racer was finished when he went to Sydney. Ditto Richards, a useless hack.

Well, they are a far better run club than the hapless lions and we should be watching and learning.

We are a rabble in comparison.
