Country Teams would have No Hope of Surviving.stui magpie wrote:Maybe one of the old VFA clubs that got spitroasted by the AFL could put their hands up for a stand alone gig. Something based in Melbourne Metro could work far better than out in Bendigo
As you say Metro Clubs would at least stand a Chance

Shame they didn't hang on in Sunday's game. It was always nice having the Pies VFL team come to Bendigo for a game but unfortunately that now comes to a close.MagpieBat wrote:http://www.foxsportspulse.com/assoc_page.cgi?client=0-118-0-0-0&&news_task=DETAIL&articleID=30288254

Poor scheduling and a lack of televised ABC games doesn't help. Play home games against Collingwood, Essendon, and Carlton early in the season and all of a sudden the coffers look a lot healthier.Dave The Man wrote:Country Teams would have No Hope of Surviving.stui magpie wrote:Maybe one of the old VFA clubs that got spitroasted by the AFL could put their hands up for a stand alone gig. Yeah, I heard they were in front for the majority of the game. Didn't the Scum snatch a goal on the siren? That would have broken their hearts...jackcass wrote:Shame they didn't hang on in Sunday's game. The worst part out of all this (for us, at least) is that the comp goes back to an odd number of teams next year, which means MORE BYES! Yippee... not.

Very sad, trailed all day and hit the front with 1 second to play.MagpieBat wrote:Yeah, I heard they were in front for the majority of the game. Didn't the Scum snatch a goal on the siren? With an uneven number of teams it should still only mean 2x byes... shouldn't it? Please say yes!

Wouldn't think so.jackcass wrote:With an uneven number of teams it should still only mean 2x byes... shouldn't it? Please say yes!
There were 13 teams in 2012, and with state league rep footy and the Foxtel Cup factored in, each team had 4 byes (plus a week off for the state game).
I imagine the VFL will adopt the same for 2015...
