I am saving that one MB, it might be the last !MagpieBat wrote:Armstrong, having done SFA to date, has been switched forward, marks a high ball.
From 35 out, DIF, kicks the GOAL!
Credit where credit is due, that was actually a nice kick...

Those of us who witnessed that can die happy - we've finally seen him kick forward of the contest. Also, he's been much better than Martin up forward in the second quarter. You knockers will probably say that's just because Kyle was playing on the wing....MagpieBat wrote:Armstrong, having done SFA to date, has been switched forward, marks a high ball.

Martin, Karnecis and Marsh
Martin has been splendid today. Marsh has done few things which are just amazing. I cant wait for him to tear a game apart. Karnezis will play seniors as soon as he is fit. He is a terrific finisher.

You might think that, I couldn't possibly comment...Pies4shaw wrote:Those of us who witnessed that can die happy - we've finally seen him kick forward of the contest. Midfield in the VFL. In the seniors he'll rotate between the forward line and the centre.MagpieBat wrote:Kennedy's been playing midfield.AN_Inkling wrote:Great to hear Kennedy's going well. Could get a spot as a small forward. Can't think of any other possible inclusions for this role .

Seriously, he's the one we need to step up. Just the type we are looking for at the moment, quick and creative. And creativity is something our forward line needs more of. Kennedy and Fasolo are the two most likely to provide it, though I hear Armstrong's playing forward now? Interesting .
Well done boys!

1) Marto's defensive game, particularly in the 1st qtr, has been very good. Not ultra-ultra-ultra-defensive, but good enough for mine, even when you discount my love of the bloke.Big T wrote:Hey MB, how is the defensive side of (1) Martin and (2) Patty K's game? This will be a key consideration and they may be competing for a spot soon, right?
2) I've really liked Patty's game. Very slippery when tackled. Has presented really well and set shot kicking has been excellent. Hasn't really stood out defensively for mine, which is a concern, so he needs to put a good bit of work into that.

That was what I saw in Brisbane. Great finisher, but questionable tank and defensive effort almost non existent. If we can improve his fitness and get a bit of Goldies manic forward pressure into him we have a star on our hands.MagpieBat wrote:1) Marto's defensive game, particularly in the 1st qtr, has been very good. Sigh, your continued provocation is getting a little tedious.AN_Inkling wrote:Midfield in the VFL. Martin has played equal parts middle and forward, with a little bit of wing/half back in there as well. But he'll get no credit from you, so I give up trying to persuade you to give it.
Armstrong's only playing forward because his teammates (including Martin) have stopped the ball from getting down there. Have to pad his stats somehow...
