A historic night sees the Stereo 974 (97.4FM) football commentary team flying to Tasmania on Friday August the 8th to call the Williamstown V Tasmania game from 6:30 PM. In conjunction with Dale of Nicks the coverage will include a live score board link up and a manual web cast for the first time in the history of the VFL.
Be part of history and tune in to 97.4Fm and Nicks via Dale to hear if the mighty seagulls can bounce back from last weeks disappopinting loss and continue their fight for top spot on the TXU-VFL ladder. It will be a ripper game coming to you live from Launceston's York Park under lights. The coverage begins from 6:30 and concludes at 10:30 pm.

Mick Gallus, Sean McManus, Heath Buck will bring you all the action with Mark Stone covering the boundary and the post match coaches interviews. David Bonnici will bring you the stats and Dale will live cast the call onto the web. Everyone at Stereo 974 welcolmes Dale to the Stereo 974 football team.

Glad to be a part of the team, Mick, and I hope I can do your call justice.

BTW, whilst I was at the North Ballarat game on Saturday, I listened to the local broadcast, and trust me when I say that you guys outdo them by a mile. They couldn't even get the players names right, even after being corrected several times. Etchner (Eichner) and MaHOney (emphasis on the HO) were prime examples.

I'll be logging in from 6 pm, but will be tuned in from start of the broadcast.

Will it be on Tasmanian Radio? Because I won't be able to be on-line at the time it is on.

Not unless a local station calls it.

I think Stereo974 broadcasts within a 50 km radius of it's headquarters, but I could be wrong.

They usually cut into the call of AFL with how Tassie is going on the ABC here in Tassie, just with the scores and who the best players are etc,its really annoying when they do it when its a collingwood game being called.

Shame, I was hoping to hear how it would be going, oh well, it will be on the news report in the morning on the radio anyway. Going to be tough to support with this game, Williamstown, or Tasmania, so I will just say, Go Seagulls, and Devils :D I think the Seagulls will be to strong for Tassie.

Team line-up

Post by Dale61 »

B: Sheehan ~ West ~ Maxwell

HB: Betheras ~ Cloke ~ Lloyd

C: Smoker ~ Fletcher ~ Eichner

HF: Scotland ~ Richardson ~ Freeborn

F: Walker ~ Mahoney ~ Cranage

R: Richards ~ Shackleton ~ Davis

Inter: Crow ~ Hill ~ Hollow ~ Jarrad
King ~ Mullins ~ Nixon ~ Pearce

I'd think that Mullins and Nixon would be certainties, but if wet, Crow might miss out. Luke Jarrad has shown enough in recent weeks to maintain his place, and I think David King should be given a chance to show that last week was just a bad day.

Whatever happens, we'll know tonight the make-up of the final Collingwood team for Saturday.

Tune in at 6pm for a live call in the chatroom.
