Last time, we had pretty much nobody from the senior list in the VFL team. I think it was maybe Paine, Grundy, Broomhead and the rookies who had not been promoted. It was the weakest VFL team since the bad old days of 2011/2012. That's one of the main reasons why we got done.
Now, Kyle Martin is in the VFL at the moment, but you would think he'll get recalled after Friday night's performance. Likewise, Grundy will probably debut. So we'll lose some good players at this level to the seniors. Kennedy will probably get recalled as well. I reckon some of the seniors will get "soreness" and be rested against GWS, meaning that more reserves will be promoted than there will be players being dropped.
We will have Russell and Clarke, as well as probably Lynch, but Hudson will be rested. Brown and Blair probably come straight back into the seniors. And then there is Harry - does he play seniors straight off a month or so out, or does he have to earn his way back in? He may get another week off altogether. Ramsay didn't play last time against Casey, still a kid but a handy inclusion nonetheless.
And of course, possibly our best player that day, Ben Moloney, is out with an ankle, so one of the key pieces of our VFL midfield is unavailable as well.
Finally, an emergency or two will be held back, so we lose even more man-power.
I never like to tip against us, but I reckon Casey by maybe 5 or 6 goals.

Yes, indeed. Although, we do have Brendan Rinaldi on the VFL list, so he'll likely get the call-up to fill in. Rinaldi will quite possibly get chop-out from Lynch, though, so he will have an experienced back-up to help him.Dave The Man wrote:We probably won't have a True Ruckman in the VFL on Saturday with Grundy going up to AFL

I would not call him a Ruckman at 196cm. More like a 2nd Ruck like Leigh BrownMagpieBat wrote:Yes, indeed. This is where not having Hudson available hurts the VFL team, much as you might not like to admit it...
Pity Huddo will likely be back in the seniors next week, because I would have so loved to have seen him giving to Wood, the guy whose spot he took...
Assuming that journo's tweet is accurate, Solomon Grundy will indeed be playing against the Giants.
I get the feeling that you might approve of such a move, Dave...

HB: Heagney-Steart Allan Collopy
C: Gray Kennedy Didak
HF: Mooney Boland Martin
F: Paine Gault Krakouer
R: Lynch Moloney Hellier
Int: Brett* Clarke Corr Ramsay Rinaldi Strachan Tyquin Wallace Yagmoor
Moloney's BACK! Didn't expect that, but a most welcome inclusion.
And Rinaldi in to cover in the ruck, precisely as I predicted.

Didak Playing and Lynch as Number 1 Ruckman.
Will Struggle with this game without a Proper Ruckman
