Who does Mooney have to root to get the rookie upgrade? I would of thought his pace would be a valuable asset in the one's. ......

A cynical person with a bent for humour might say it's not a question of who he has to root, but who he already has...

In saying that, he really is the only option for that final rookie upgrade spot. Yagmoor has stalled after a run of good form. Richmond is a non-factor. Hartley is in casualty. Everyone else has been promoted already.

It certainly couldn't hurt to give the Lightning Irishman a go...

Here's a fun fact...

We have now beaten the premiers of the last 3 years! North Ballarat (round 1, premiers 2010), Geelong (round 6, premiers 2012) and now Port Melbourne (premiers 2011).

In fact, if you throw in the 2008 and 2009 North Ballarat flags and the Geelong premiership of 2007, it means we have knocked off all the flag winners of the last 7 years in just this season!

Yeah, I know, useless information. But hey, someone's got to provide the faithful with something to smile about...

Great to hear we won on Saturday. Also, of the five listed players named in the best, four are yet to play a game for us this year. That's something to be optimistic over.

As always, I would take those bests with a grain of salt.

Keeffe, for example, was arguably beaten by Dean Galea. Gault played forward, but didn't exactly set the world on fire. Krakouer played half a good game, the second half.

Also, what's this optimism thing? Don't you know? You should be out in the streets demanding Buckley's head! Tear the place down, depose Eddie, get Mick back! Optimism?! Ha, you fool!

I thought we were meant to be optimistically demanding Buckley's head! Tearing the place down, deposing Eddie, getting Mick back!

Krakouer should have been playing against the power pretty easy I would have thought.

Young is good to go.

Broomhead also looks a clas above VFL level.
