Fun Facts:
- This is the third consecutive season where Collingwood has faced off against the VFL partners of the Melbourne Football Club, the Casey Scorpions, on the Saturday before the Queen's Birthday game in the AFL. The fixture was first introduced in 2011. Collingwood has lost both of the previous two of these 'mini-Queen's Birthday eve' clashes. The Pies have also played a previous Melbourne VFL affiliate, Sandringham, in one of these fixtures in 2008, which the Pies lost as well.

- Collingwood has not beaten Casey since round 2 of 2010. On that day, a woefully inaccurate Magpies outfit got over the line by 10 points out at Casey Fields, 13.22.100 to 13.12.90. Since that day, the Magpies have lost 4 consecutive matches to the Scorpions (2 at home, 2 away) by an average margin of just under 33 points.

Over to you...

After taking a look at the PTV Journey Planner...

The Route 789 bus leaves from Frankston Station and stops by at Cranbourne Shopping Centre. Change to the Route 896 and take it to the Casey Complex on New Holland Drive.

That's as far as it goes.

From there on, you have to walk 2.5 kilometres along Berwick-Cranbourne Road to get to the ground.

I'd recommend either a taxi from the Casey Complex or drive a car from Frankston...

Casey Fields

My family are going to watch our first VFL game in a very long time. As Collingwood members, how much does it cost to get in please?

We have decided to watch the VFL rather than go on Monday as there is no General Admin in the Ponsford and I hate sitting in the Southern!

If it was at Vic Park it would be free. But as it's Casey's home game there will be a charge. I can't for the life of me remember what we paid last year though. Sorry!!!

The team is in:

Collingwood
B: Riddle Russell Sinclair
HB: Seedsman Gault Clarke
C: Broomhead Martin Yagmoor
HF: Krakouer Paine Hellier
F: Mooney Hudson Richmond
R: Witts J. Thomas Oxley
Int: Allan Boland Collopy Corr Ferguson Gray Grundy Headney-Steart Mangoni* Moloney Sundberg Wallace S. Williams

Good to see Russell back from that ankle injury.

Heagney-Steart obviously over that shin injury and good to see Wallace get named in the squad as well.

Krakouer is also named, so he isn't being rested, as has been suggested.

Never been to a game at Casey but did have to do a site visit there when we (Department of Regional Australia) put some money into some of the development there. Conditions reminded me of the good old days at Arctic Park. Freezing cold, howling gale, pissing rain. Perfect Waverly weather.
