WOW!
How many years since we kicked the richscum on 2 occasions in a season?
Great to see the "so-called" 2nd tier players step up and give a contest.
Bad luck to Benny. He seems to have finally found a place, though at McKee's expense, and now he more than likely has played his last game in the B&W.
All in all, a much needed % boost. The swannies won today, they are the team who's position we covet. This means we must, must, must get a top 4 possie. Imperative that we get a BIG win over the filth next week.
I'm sure that SSB, bux, taz and co will put the pride of CFC forward and deliver the percentage boost that we need. I for one, will be there to see this win.

The Weed Report
It's a rare occasion indeed when a near 12-goal win leaves The Weed underwhelmed, but this was such an occasion. It seemed to me as if 12 goals was the minimum: so grossly uncompetitive were Richmond for most of the night a 100-point margin would have been more truly representative of the gap between the sides.
Perhaps I'm being unfair. We kicked five goals in the first quarter; seven in the second and fourth, and restricted the opposition to nine goals overall. But the truth is much of the match represented a training drill. We are going to face far tougher tests, although probably not against the Blues next week, who have lost the early-season fight Pagan had instilled.
With the Tiges losing Kane Johnston and Leon Cameron pre-match, the match was as close to a formality as you can get in AFL from the start. I'm not saying the Pies didn't come to play - they picked up in the first quarter more or less from where they'd left off in the last three weeks - but the longer the game went, the less inspiring it all became.
Not that it wasn't fun to watch Jarrod Molloy bash and crash his way to a near BOG performance. He really needed this game, and we really need him to produce it more often. Last season he played a grand final in which he simply wasn't fit enough to perform. He'll be far more influential this time around if he can keep up last night's effort.
The senior players were all solid again. Buckley I didn't think was quite as dominant, but such are his stocks now many have already given him the three votes anyway. Rocca played the role of around-the-ground ruck and managed three goals when resting at his usual CHF. Burns continued his career-best form, Licuria was desperate as ever and Tarrant collected nine marks and a couple of goals in comparatively low-key fashion.
In the backline, Presti once again showed off his prancing feet, with what must have been the first blind turn of his career. Eight possessions to half time must have been a PB as he humiliated a sad Matthew Richardson.
And after that? Well, Fraser was dangerous up forward but left his kicking boots at home; he was soundly beaten by Ottens and Stafford in the ruck duels but more effective at ground level. Johnson kicked his third goal in three weeks but wasn't quite the dynamo he has been of late; the same applies for Woewodin and O'Bree.
Didak was unsighted until the last quarter when the game was long over, while Cole was quiet, although his tackling remains a feature. Kinnear I thought had played his last game in the black and white when he went down, but MM's after-match comments indicated he'd get another chance. Cloke also was restricted by ankle problems.
Really it was just too easy. The boys were toying with them, and that brings forth bad habits. It was good to see MM give the lads a good-old fashioned spray at 3/4 time after a wretched third quarter.
The player who I thought really stood out was wearing black and yellow: Mark Coughlan isn't getting the notices of Chris Judd but he's a future Brownlow medallist IMO. Rodan and Krakouer showed glimpses, but after that I don't think many Tigers would get a game for many other clubs.
We have games against Carlton and Geelong coming up and we need to win them ruthlessly. The last four weeks of the year will be a much sterner indication of how far we've come and how far we have to go.

Yup Mark Coughlan is a gun. If he played for Essendon or Stkilda where the young payers receive many plaudits then he would be held in much higher regard. He basically held their midfield together last year and considering his age thats quite a great effort. He has followed it up this year with another great effort. Having Kane Johnson to help out would have benefited him a great deal. Rodan is another player who can develop into a good footballer.
I also agree that this should have been a 100 point mauling. No Gaspar, Campbell and Johnson. An out of sorts Matthew Richardson. Basically their top 4 players having no influence and we only won by 70 points. It felt at some stages to break the lethargy Richmond had to kick a goal and then we would respond quickly with two or three goals.
Maybe WCE suffered from an easy game last week against Carlton when they confronted Port this week and they didnt know what hit them. Lets hope the Pies can be disciplined enough to beat Carlton and Geelong and get the percentage that we need yet not get arrogant as they need to be on guard for Sydney Brisbane and Adelaide.

The Torres bounce is officially dead. You are walking alone now Fernando.
