How did Dids go? Is he in the mix for a call up?

No. His skills were great, of course, but he really couldn't get his own ball and generally couldn't impact the contest. I really want to see him in the seniors but he really shouldn't be brought up after that game.

Collingwood 3.5, 9.9, 14.10, 18.12
Geelong 4.5, 9.7, 14.9, 16.11

Goals - Collingwood: Paine 5, Allan 3, Didak 3, Broomhead, Hellier, Richmond, Moloney, Martin, Yagmoor, Mooney
Geelong: Brown 4, Kersten 3, Murdoch 2, Bathie, Vardy, Corrigan, McFarlane, Burbury, Hartman, Gibbs

Best - Collingwood: Moloney, Paine, Hudson, Oxley, Didak, Heagney-Steart
Geelong: Sully, Corrigan, Brown, Murdoch, Gleeson, Simpson

So Martin had 35 possies and kicked a goal but wasn't in the best?!

Bucks said something interesting during a post match interview with Ch 7 that defensive efforts being rewarded with senior selection. That kinda makes sense with Sinclairs continual selection except for the last couple of weeks. While Sinclair does chase and harass, I don't see the rewards that we've gotten from similar types in Elliott and Dwyer. Sinclair to me is a cattle dog rounding up sheep and most times I think we may as well have a kelpie out there.

My point is, has Martin been as Pendles put it "a cheater"? I haven't watched any VFL games yet this year so I can't comment. Could this be the reason he hasn't been elevated yet? Could our VFL regulars shed some light...

Saw the last qtr & a bit.

Oxley, wow can he mark under pressure. Highly impressive.

Sinclair intercepted a few & is a good mark for his size.

Paine like a few bigger guys after a mark takes too much time walking backwards on the mark & then looking for options - by this time he has missed leads etc. Needs more awareness IMO. (didn't see the first 2.5 qtrs).

Team looked good & combined well.

I don't know where they were getting the best players from. Didak wasn't one of the best despite 3 goals. Martin Moloney & Hudson were our 3 best by a mile. Oxley next despite Brown kicking a few on him. He fought back well in the last quarter. Paine was good as well with 5 goals & clunked a few good grabs. Rick I thought all our mids were pushing back to help the defenders. They played well.

Most of Martins work was done at the coalface in tight congested areas. He's relentless in his pursuit of the footy, clean with his disposal and appears to have good vision. Must be close to promotion you'd think.

Martin will get the mid season upgrade surely, although oxley is in a position where we have some issues and has been playing well.

From what I saw on the weekend Paine should be close and dids has to get a game surely.

I'm amazed that BJ wasn't listed among the best players...

He should be a walk up start for the seniors this week.

What are people's thoughts on Tim Allan (No. 57 I think)?

Only playing as a top up player, but he is a good size & athletic.

Potential rookie list spot 2014?
Ohhhh the premierships a cakewalk for the good old COLLINGWOOD

Would be looking at Ferguson, Hellier, and Wallace before him. All midgets though.

Would be looking at Moloney first I would have thought?

Wallace had a cracking game, and Hellier can play too.
