How They Fared Last Week:
State game, BYE...
Fun Fact:
- Dayne Beams loves to play against the Cats reserves. Since the 2010 premiership, the reigning Copeland Trophy winner has played in 2 of the last 4 games vs Geelong, both of them being the first encounter of the year. Should he return from injury this week, it will be the 3rd time in 3 years that Dayne has shaped up against the team from down Sleepy Hollow way first up in the VFL.
The first time was in round 7 of 2011, when he reportedly told Mick Malthouse that he "would rather play 4 quarters in the VFL than 1 quarter in the AFL as a sub." And so he did! The second occassion was part of his comeback from injury in round 2 of 2012, where he was accompanied by several Collingwood veterans in Chris Tarrant, Ben Johnson and Sharrod Wellingham. And we all know how that season turned out...
Finally, it is a double header on Saturday: the curtain-raiser at Victoria Park, followed by the big rumble at the MCG.
Over to you...

Looking forward to this. Will be doing the double and will try to get to the game in time for kick-off.
Looking forward to the return of Hudson, Martin & Oxley who all missed the last game. Benny Johnson as well from memory. Broomhead could even make an appearance. Oh, and they'll regain Witts as well. Should be a much stronger team than the one which took on Willi a fortnight ago.

If Broomhead plays (which I hope he does, the kid deserves a break), then there is a good chance Dwyer will be there with him as well, as I don't think they'll just upgrade him for Toovey's spot.
Me thinks Buckley will want to see a bit of competition for the upgrade.
So, the VFL team could lose (depending on senior selection) Didak, maybe Williams, maybe Russell, but gain Johnson, Hudson, Oxley, Martin, Broomhead back from injury, Witts from the bye, plus the returning Dwyer, plus whoever gets the chop (think Clarke, maybe Mooney, maybe Kennedy as well).
That's a lot of talent and experience back on the park in one hit.
Still won't have Fasolo, though...
Geelong are red-hot, like in the AFL, but if we are going to pick one off on Saturday, I reckon this could be the game.
