I reckon how the respective senior teams go at the selection table may be the deciding outcome. Bulldogs are very depleted at the moment, but we aren't exactly in crash hot shape either.

Depending on the results of this round, we could find ourselves in the top4 after 5 rounds, possibly as high as 3rd, which would be a remarkable achievement after the 2 years of floggings we've recieved at this level.

Might we see Hudson vs Wood in the ruck? "Hey, Woody, I took your spot."

The VFL side is in...

Collingwood
B: Gault Frost Sinclair
HB: Riddle Russell Oxley
C: Yagmoor Ball Didak
HF: Martin Allan Mooney
F: Richmond Boland Paine
R: Hudson Fasolo M. Williams
Int: Corr Collopy Ferguson Gray Greenhough* Hellier Hine Mitchem Moloney

Huddo's leg musn't be that sore if he's going to take on the Willy rucks.

On the other hand, it is Cameron Wood who he'll be lining up on, so one leg should be more than enough...

Good to see Boland back for his 1st game this year.

And Mooney's back from his calf injury.

Still no Johnson, though...

Interesting that Sinclair is named in the backline.
To the VFL watchers does where they are named have any resemblence to where they actually play?
Sinclairs tackling, pressure and pace make him potentially a promising solution to the opposition small forwards.

Or simply cant kick chuck them in the backline.

It can depend on the player.

Take Krakouer and Didak. Both have played predominately through the middle in the VFL, because that's how the club enables them to get their minutes up and their legs accustomed to football again. Should they play seniors, though, they'll likely play predominately forward.

Look at Fasolo. Was brought back too soon, his fitness levels got exposed at senior level (although his poor attitude had a lot to do with his poor form as well). He's named as a rover, so he'll be running in the middle to get miles into his legs.

With Sinclair I suspect that the fact he is an abject failure up forward, combined with the necessity caused by Toovey's knee injury, means that Buckley has decided to (re)invent a role for him as a small defender. Order him to take an AFL-listed small forward currently doing duty in the reserves and instruct him to follow him around, see how he does.

Great to see Mooney back.

Interesting that Sinclair's named in defense. His omission would make even more sense if we were looking to turn him into a defender now that Toovey's gone.
Well done boys!

Martin, Oxley, Hudson and Mitchem NOT playing...
