With the game still in the balance, a steady hand is what is required.

And one avails itself.

Who's that?

DIDAK!!!

... but he misses.

72-85.

Have you got time for a rundown on our players & who you thought did well?

I think he's otherwise occupied, WPT. ;)

Well, Oxley was in nearly every second play for most of the game. Easily our BOG. Kicked a ripper of a goal.

Witts was pretty good. Rucked virtually the whole game, with only minimal chop-out from Gault, who was assigned the job on Daw. He's getting around the ground, he's taking marks, he's dropping back to help out in defence, pushing into the forward 50 to provide an option. Wittsy is definitely getting there.

Martin was a little more subdued on last week's performance, but still became our leading goal kicker. Would fit into the seniors quite easily tomorrow if need be.

Dids just floated around, gathering possies. Still maybe a week away from coming into senior calculations, but the fixture being what it is (3 games in 12 days) may see Dids getting a callup to relieve the physical pressure on young bodies. ANZAC Day, maybe?

Richmond was interesting. The club are talking him up at every opportunity. The way Mason was going on, he could be a surprise packet in 2013 (and really, if Blicavs can do it, surely Richmond can too).

Seedsman gathering plenty across the wing. Copped a crunching knock late in the final quarter, but the club says he's okay. But given our shifty nature when reporting injuries, I would take that with a grain of salt.

Krakouer played on-ball. Seemed to get a good amount of it. Maybe another couple of weeks off, but it was good that he was in the middle and getting his hands on it.

Paine MIA, but not helped by the "bomb it inside 50" delivery he was getting. A dirty night for #33.

An unsung hero from the VFL list, Riddle played pretty well in defence. Doesn't get enough credit for his efforts (but then what defender does?) Mason rates him as a smokey for the AFL draft this year.

Thanks for the run down Magpie Bat, great to read.

Oxley, looking forward to seeing him at Vic Park.

I'm just going off Luke Mason's online commentary. Witts seems to be progressing well. Not sure how he went with hit outs, but he seemed to be holdng his own in the ruck against Currie. What was most impressive was the number of possessions he picked up around the ground. He seems to be marking well and his mobile enough and skilled enough below his knees to salvage the ball that doesn't clear the rucking contest.

Oxley was another one who had a very good game. Picked up numerous possessions, tackled well and kicked a stunning goal. He was easily one of the best on ground. I've seen him play a couple of games now and his disposal is excellent. From Luke's commentary it sounded like his disposals were once again effective.

Riddle must have played well if he was playing on Warren. Warren only kicked two goals so he was kept in check for most of the night. Not a bad effort on a player that only recently kicked 11.

Seedsman was named in the best but I didn't pick up much of an influence in Luke's online call.

Martin seemed to be more heavily involved picking up another couple of goals.

It was looking like we might have been falling off early in the fourth. The boys did well to hang in, which augurs well for a much more competitive team this year. If we have a good year with injuries, we might be able to give the top teams a real scare.
