Agree Proto Kinnear will be the most likely candidate. Freos' game is based around their speedy on ballers having time to deliver. Shaws' inclusion, if fit, will be a bonus. I feel wet weather will suit us. It will make them handle the ball less, kick sooner than they would prefer. This will allow us opportunities to clear and create ourselves. Also we have the "in and unders" they only dream about and the wet will negate any impact from their big BIG ruckman Sandilands. My only concern is regarding our tall marking forwards if indeed it is wet. Changes to our forward line in the past has had a negative affect on team balance. I'll be cheering a Collingwood victory.

Clement has a hamstring strain that will sideline him for at least 2 games, if Shaw isn't fit I think Dane Swan should be given another chance.

What? We have to turn up?

In all seriousness, before Bob passed away I was like BRING 'EM ON and so super confident of an all in thumping. Since Monday, well we can go two ways. The emotion can overun us and we can lose our focus, or we can utilise the emotion in a positive, hungering way and thump Freo.

Bob's spirit and energy will be with the boys on Saturday and I have no doubt they'll come out firing. It will be a hugely emotional game, for the boys, the club and supporters. Expect to see alot of wet eyes (and not by the rain, if it does rain). Pies by a whopping.

Tell us more Geoff, please. Amazing to think that he could not get a game 6 months ago, and here we are talking about "rushing" him into the side after injury.

Collingwood will win this game, no doubt about it. But, we must play hard at it footy as we have over the last 2 weeks. freo are also a good tackling side so they won't shirk it I think. Didn't catch their game last week but brissy is known to be a tough tackling side so that may not unsettle them. Jimmy is a big loss others will have to lift to cover him. No matter that they have improved this year, they are still very vulnerable away from home. If they thought last week was a finals type atmosphere game, wait till they see this week.

If Clement is not able to take his place in the team then the change should be
In: Shaw
Out: Clement
We should retain Kinnear as he can play down back and maybe fill Clement's spot.

Great to hear that Shaw will be back - timely due to Clement's injury but not a substitute of course.
Personally I feel this may be decided more by the coaches' battle than anything else - both teams have potential to take over and whichever coach makes the best moves and instructions might decide who gets on top. The only other possible factor is Clement - it may be that he is as important as Fletcher is to essendon and the bummers have often fallen apart in his absence - but I doubt it but it might be advisable to replace him with another "prime-mover" such as a woey or burns - may also be a big test for Brodie as a proactive defender.
Hmm interesting and scary game.

Im not that confident as i dont think we are suited to wet weather. Our forward line is built around tall marking players and the emotion of this week could go the other way. Our weakness are the smaller type forwards. Conversely fremantle has Farmer and Medhurst who are two quality smaller forwards. Sure Farmer hasnt done much this year but its those type of players who normally destroy us.

Everyone seems to use the Essendon game last year to claim we are great in the wet. However we shouldnt forget that we lost to last years wooden spooners in wet conditions and got thumped by Hawthorn in a very disappointing display.

Anyway i hope the boys to Bobby Rose proud and thrash Fremantle however i think is very much a danger game.

I notice Liccuria has been selected in the backline - perfect choice and very encouraging re the coaching battle in my arrogant opinion.

One thing that does bother me is that Perth has had steady rain for 3 weeks!! The dockers will have trained in it and got used to handling the ball in the wet by now. Hopefully we can still adapt.
My oxygen is Collingwood. Without it I die.

Clement's loss will be hard to cover. Shaw has the ability to rebound, but can he contain a forward?

This looms as a very tough game. I'm hoping Bob's memory will get us over the line.

I expect us to win but Shaw has to prove he can play well in a crunch game. Beating an opponent one on one is not his strong suit, a bit like Lockyer. Gosh remember when he was on Farmer. Shaw is better left to run free.
